2008 MMDBA Schooling Show

Preview Equipment Here

We have a Master of Ceremonies!

Thanks Joyce BergHansen!

We also "need" some volunteers to help with setting up of the arena, helping in the judges booth, helping with show registrations, a Ring Stewart, etc.

Please email me if you would like to help out!

If you have trouble download or opening the forms email me and I can send you them in word form.

The spring show that is held annually at the Hartville Saddle Club will be held on Saturday May 24th with a rain date of Saturday May 31st

We had to change the date from the 25th to the 24th because of scheduling conflicts. Many of the saddle club members could not work on Sunday because they all go to church. We need them in order to put on this show. Without the saddle club members help we do not have enough MMDBA Members that are able to drive this distance in order to help out at the show.

We will not know until late Friday night or early Saturday morning if the show is cancelled because of rain. The arena footing will have to be inspected by a saddle club member and they will notify us at that time. Please check the web site in case of rain. It will be your responsibility to check as we can not call everyone.

A Coggins test is required to show each donkey. You will be using your donkey’s actual date of birth to determine class or classes to be entered.

We want you to use this event again this year as a vehicle for you to come school your donkeys and have some fun!

This is a great event to get your donkey and yourself use to the loud speaker, other donkeys, and competitors in the ring with you, obstacles, and other scary monsters that are not encountered in your usual day at home on the farm schooling your donkeys for shows.

Pre-registration will be $3.00 per class or $20 per donkey. Registration the day of the show will be $5.00 per class or $30.00 per donkey.

We would like everyone to pre-register this year if possible so that most of our paperwork will be completed before the day of the show. This will also give us a head count of approximately how many donkeys will be competing. If you are not certain which donkey you want to bring and this keeps you from pre-registering we are offering the option of substituting a different donkey on the day of the show. This way you can commit to the show even if you are not certain of the donkey you will be showing.

Gates will open at 8:00 am and the show will start promptly at 10:00. If you are not going to register until the day of the show or are substituting a donkey you pre-registered please do this no later than 9:00 am.

We are also offering a foal halter class. Your foal must be between six months and short of one year old to be entered in this class. We feel this may be of benefit to all those young donkeys that you may want to start early for their show career!

We will also be offering a Jr. Hurdles class. In this case Jr. will refer to the handler, someone who is new to jumping or to a Jr. donkey that has not yet turned 3 and has not competed in jumping. This will be a good opportunity for handlers and donkeys alike to school on jumps 18 to 20 inches.

We hope to see you all there to share in donkey schooling fun!
